Ecoblend is a 3rd generation used-oil-to-fuel blending unit with 4 stages of filtration and precision blending technology. The system saves money by reducing fuel purchases and eliminating costs for used-oil disposal. It also cleans the fuel and improves its combustion characteristics for better performance and reduced fuel consumption.
Alaska Energy Authority Two arctic fuel samples from the State of Alaska Division of Energy were submitted to Analysts Ins. Laboratories for lubricity tests in August 2001.
Fuel samples were similar, displaying over 85% fuel lubricity gains.
The increased in fuel lubricity will result in far greater injection pump and injector life while also providing improved combustion.
Immediate savings are realized by reduced fuel purchases, while eliminating costs for record keeping, expensive disposal costs and environmental liabilities associated with the transfer and disposal of waste oils.

Yakutat Power in Alaska reported, after operating on REOS processed and blended fuel, that exhaust smoke was reduced while kilowatt generation per gallon of fuel increased from 14.7 to 15.3.
A REOS unit was installed at Yakutat Power on December 22, 1998 to address used oil storage and disposal issues. Within a three month period, all stored oils were converted into burnable fuel and consumed in their generator engines.
